Mufti Rushan Abbyasov, Deputy Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation (RBM) for International Affairs and Hajj, took part in a working meeting of the Hajj Council to discuss the organization of the pilgrimage in 2026.
The meeting, chaired by Senator Ilyas Umakhanov, Commissioner for Hajj Affairs under the Government of the Russian Federation's Commission on Religious Associations, was attended by the head of the Russian Hajj Mission Khizbula Asuev, representatives of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, various Spiritual Boards of Muslims of Russia, their official tour operators, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economic Development, and other invited guests.
Participants discussed the distribution of the nationwide Hajj quota and approved the list of tour operators for the upcoming Hajj season, including mechanisms for timely international interbank transfers.
During the discussions, Ilyas Umakhanov informed attendees about the deadlines for submitting pilgrim documents to the E-Hajj system, emphasizing that the submission process must be completed by December 31, 2025.
In his address, Mufti Rushan Abbyasov conveyed greetings on behalf of RBM Chairman and Grand Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin. He also drew colleagues' attention to the necessity of involving only official and approved tour operators of the Spiritual Boards of Muslims in the Hajj organization process. Mufti Abbyasov urged that this information be fully communicated to future pilgrims to prevent cases where believers fall into the hands of unscrupulous companies and subsequently become illegal pilgrims.
In conclusion, the RBM Deputy Chairman thanked the Russian Hajj Mission for constructive cooperation and for adopting and implementing initiatives proposed during previous meetings.
