Head of Russia Muftis Council met with the religious advisor of the Turkish embassy A meeting between the Chairman of Russia Muftis Council mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin and the religious advisor of the Turkish embassy Mr Dursun Aygün took place in RMC residency.

The meeting was attended by SAMER deputy chairman Damir hazrat Muhetdinov and head of the International department Ildar Galeev.

Mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin congratulated Mr Aygün on his new assignment, saying that it will definitely give a new momentum to their relations.

Spiritual leader of Russian Muslims told of the activities of Russia Muftis Council and the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of European Russia and stressed the contribution of the Turkish party in implementation and participation in such projects. Due time was devoted to the discussion of the reconstruction of Moscow Jum'ah Mosque, which is carried out with the assistance of Turkish board of religious affairs.

"Turkey is the country we want to strengthen our ties with," said mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin. "Similarities in our languages and traditions and a common madhab can only bring our nations closer together."

Mr Aygün, in his turn, thanked mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin for congratulations and kind wishes.

"Turkish board of religious affairs greatly values you and your efforts in serving Islam in Russia. Rest assured that I shall do whatever I can to strengthen our relations," he said.

In the end of the meeting, parties agreed on continuing fruitful cooperation.
