A meeting between Chairman of Russia Muftis Council mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin and Akim of Astana Imangali Tasmagambetov took place in the capital of Kazakhstan. Spiritual leader of Russia's Muslims awarded the Akim with 1st class Order of Honour "Al-Fakhr".

"For significant contribution to the cause of spreading cultural and spiritual traditions of Islam, promotion of unity between Turkic peoples and strengthening peace and accord in society; for establishing constant dialogue between followers of different creeds," says the award order signed by mufti.

Both parties expressed their content with Russian-Kazakhstan relations and noted significance of continued interfaith dialogue and interethnic harmony and mutual understanding.

As it was previously reported, a delegation of Russia Muftis Council headed by mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin is currently taking part in XII session of the Congress of World and Traditional Religions in Astana that coincides with 10th anniversary of the Congress.
