A meeting between the Chairman of Russia Muftis Council mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin and the extraorinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the Turkish Republic in Russian Federation Umit Yardım took place in RMC residency.

The meeting was also attended by the embassy advisor Mehmet Kiraz, religious advisor Dursun Aygün, first deputy chairman of Russia Muftis Council Rushan hazrat Abbyasov, first deputy chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of European Russia Damir hazrat Muhetdinov, head of RMC international department Ildar hazrat Galeev. During the meeting, the two parties discussed issues pertaining to the cooperation between the countries, stressing the high level of warm and friendly relations between Russia Muftis Council, Spiritual Administration of Muslims of European Russia and the Presidency of Religious Affairs of the Turkish Republic that has been maintained for years, thanks to the religious councillor of the embassy Mr Dursun Aygün, among others.

During the meeting, mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin told of his trip to Crimea, mentioning cooperation with the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Crimea. Spiritual leader of Russian Muslims also informed the Turkish delegation of the projects and events organized by Russia Muftis Council and thanked the ambassador, the diplomats of the embassy and other Turkish representatives for their active participation in the events organized by Russia Muftis Council. Ravil Gaynutdin particularly mentioned member of the jury board of the Moscw International Qur'an Reciting Competition, world-class specialist Mehmet Maşali and the Turkish participant of the competition Günay Riza who took the third prize. He also spoke of the Turkish companies that participated in Moscow Halal Expo this year and the days of the Turkish Republic in the Ramadan Tent.

The parties also discussed the construction progress of the Moscow Jum'ah Mosque, the coming visit of Turkish imams to Moscow and other parts of Russia next Ramadan, and the topic of the distribution of sacrificed animals in the regions.

Head of Russia Muftis Council also praised the wise position of the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan concerning the ongoing Syrian conflict, his help to the Syrian refugees whose numbers are growing day by day and have already reached two million.

In the end of the meeting, both parties agreed to continue their fruitful cooperation.
