A meeting between first deputy chairman of Russia Muftis Council Rushan hazrat Abbyasov and  French political scientist and specialist of Islam and contemporary Arab world Gilles Kepel, professor of the Paris Institute of Political Studies (IEP), member of le Collège de France, author of the book "Jihad: The Trail of Political Islam" took place in Moscow Islamic Institute.

During the meeting, Rushan hazrat Abbyasov welcomed the French scholar on behalf of spiritual leader of Russia's Muslims mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin.

In the course of the conversation, Rushan hazrat told Mr Kepel of the activities of Russian Muslims and particularly of the educational programs and other events organized by Russia Muftis Council. The parties also discussed interaction between the Muftis Council and the countries of Arab-Muslim world.

In the end of the meeting, both parties expressed hope for continued fruitful cooperation in the area of education and Islamic studies.
