Muslim Leaders of BRICS Nations Advocate for Traditional Family, Dialogue, and a Just World, Affirming Spiritual and Moral Guidelines for a Multipolar World Order On September 4, 2025, Rio de Janeiro hosted the Meeting of Muslim Spiritual Leaders of BRICS Countries, bringing together heads of major Islamic organizations from the member states. The significant outcome of this event was the unanimous adoption of a resolution outlining the spiritual and humanitarian development vector for BRICS.

The adopted resolution affirms the commitment of Muslim communities in BRICS countries to the principles of unity in diversity, emphasizing that cultural and religious pluralism reflects Divine wisdom and serves as a fundamental pillar of a multipolar world. Participants declared their support for the integration policies pursued by the leaders and governments of the member states, aimed at strengthening traditional spiritual and moral values and upholding the right of every nation to pursue an independent development path free from externally imposed ideologies.

The resolution highlights several key priorities:

Protecting and strengthening the institution of the traditional family as the foundation of humanity’s future;

Deepening interreligious and interethnic dialogue as an effective means of building trust and cooperation;

Countering extremism, Islamophobia, fascism, and nationalism, and firmly rejecting any form of disrespect towards religions;

Developing scholarly, theological, and humanitarian cooperation;

Establishing international norms for the ethical regulation of artificial intelligence technologies.

The efforts of Brazil in promoting civilizational dialogue and strengthening humanitarian ties were particularly acknowledged. The initiative of the Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, Grand Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, and the Director General of the Muhammad bin Zayed University for Humanities in the UAE, Dr. Khalifa Mubarak Al-Zahiri, was gratefully highlighted for their role in organizing and ensuring the success of the meeting.

In his opening address, Grand Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin emphasized the symbolic significance of holding the meeting in Brazil, the hospitable land of the New World, where the ideas of multipolarity, justice, and mutual respect are increasingly being realized. He underscored that the achieved level of trust and cooperation within BRICS requires a spiritual dimension, and contacts between Muslim organizations of the world’s largest nations should serve as a foundation not only for bringing peoples closer but also for dialogue with representatives of other religions and cultures.

The adoption of the resolution marks a crucial step towards shaping a just world order based on spiritual values, mutual respect, and brotherhood. This event symbolizes the readiness of Muslim communities in BRICS countries to actively contribute to the development of harmonious global interaction founded on trust, spirituality, and humanism.
