On the instructions of the Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation, Chief Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, the delegation of the RBM of the Russian Federation made a working visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from May 4 to 6. The delegation consisted of Mufti Rushan Abbyasov and Rafik Fattakhetdinov, Deputy Chairmen of the RBM of the Russian Federation, as well as Ammar Hijjavi, Advisor on Hajj and Umrah.
In Riyadh, the delegation met with the Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, Mr. Abdel Latif bin Abdulaziz Al al-Sheikh. The guests conveyed to Mr. Minister the words of greetings on behalf of the Chairman of the RBM of the Russian Federation Chief Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin and confirmed the readiness to develop bilateral cooperation, including on the platforms of the International Muslim Forum and the Moscow International Quran Recitation Contest. In addition, on behalf of the Muslim Ummah of Russia, Rushan Hazrat praised the peacekeeping efforts of Saudi Arabia and its initiatives aimed at strengthening peace and security.
Also in the capital of the kingdom, representatives of the RBM of the Russian Federation met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to KSA Sergey Kozlov. During the conversation, the participants noted the high level of Russian-Saudi relations, emphasized the role and importance of spiritual diplomacy in strengthening ties between the peoples of the two countries, as well as discussed vectors of cooperation and agreed to coordinate actions and consolidate efforts in the development of Russia's interaction with Saudi Arabia and the Islamic world as a whole.
Staying in the Holy Lands of Mecca and Medina, the delegation of the RBM of the Russian Federation inspected the hotels for readiness for the Hajj season, where Russian pilgrims, including participants of the special military operation, will be staying. The visit to the hotels showed their full readiness to receive pilgrims.
