Muslim holidays will give Crimeans more days off, according to the media. A session of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea has approved a law proposed by deputy Remzi Ilyasov that gives Muslim holidays of Kurban-bayram (Eid al-Adha), Uraza-bayram (Eid al-Fitr) and Hıdırlez official status, in addition to Christian Easter and Pentecost. The proposition was supported by 72 deputies.
According to the document, March 11 and April 11 (Day of the Republic of Crimea and Day of Constitution) will also be made public holidays.
As for memorable dates, they will include Day of Admission of Crimea into Russian Federation (May 18), Day of the Memory of Deportation Victims (May 18) and the Memorial Day of Krymchaks and Jews (December 11).
