An official reception on the occasion of new, 1435th Hijri year took place in the official reception house of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation.

On the invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, the reception was attended by deputy chairman of Russia Muftis Council Rushan hazrat Abbyasov and first deputy chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of European Russia Damir hazrat Muhetdinov.

During the reception, Rushan hazrat Abbyasov has conveyed the greetings of Chairman of Russia Muftis Council, Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of European Russia mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin to minister Lavrov.

In the beginning of the event, Mr Lavrov addressed the guests, congratulating them with new 1435th Hijri year. In his speech, he particularly mentioned the role of Spiritual Administrations of Muslims in building up relations with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. "We highly value their active efforts," said minister Lavrov.

Speaking about different nations and religions, Mr Lavrov asserted the need to respect other peoples and civilizations and their right for self-determination.

The minister also praised efforts of OIC in settlement of armed conflicts in different parts of Muslim world.
