Turkish Minister of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change Visits Moscow Cathedral Mosque On this blessed Friday, a Turkish delegation led by Murat Kurum, Minister of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change of the Republic of Turkey, visited the Moscow Cathedral Mosque. The guests were welcomed at the main Muslim house of worship of the country by Deputy Chairmen of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation (RBM): Mufti Rushan Abbyasov, Ildar Nurimanov, Rafik Fattakhetdinov, Dinar Gaynetdinov, and Ravil Seyfetdinov, along with Russian Presidential Aide Ruslan Edelgeriev and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to the Russian Federation, Mr. Tanju Bilgiç.

Mufti Rushan Abbyasov conveyed greetings to Mr. Kurum on behalf of the Chairman of the RBM, Grand Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin. He emphasized that visits of high-level Turkish statesmen to the Moscow Cathedral Mosque have long been a good tradition, rooted in the warm relations between the Presidents of Russia and Turkey. Mufti Rushan Abbyasov noted that Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan participated in the opening ceremony of the renovated mosque complex after its reconstruction in 2015.

Mr. Kurum thanked the delegation of Deputy Chairmen of the RBM for the warm reception and asked to convey his warmest words of gratitude to Grand Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin. He noted the architectural elegance of the Moscow Cathedral Mosque and its unique image within the capital's visual landscape.

At the conclusion of the official part of the meeting, Mufti Rushan Abbyasov presented the Minister with a photo album titled "Mosques of Russia," which showcases the rich historical, cultural, and architectural heritage of the Muslim peoples of Russia. Following this, the participants performed the Friday prayer.
