Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin Visits Mariupol Cathedral Mosque and Expresses Interest in the Activities of the Mariupol Muslim Community On the festive day of Kurban Bayram, Deputy Chairman of the Government Marat Khusnullin, during a working trip to the Donetsk People's Republic together with the Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin, visited Donetsk and inspected the progress of restoration work on the Donetsk Cathedral Mosque and its surrounding buildings.

On the evening of the Kurban Bayram holiday, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin, Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin, and Head of the City of Mariupol Anton Koltsov visited the Mariupol Cathedral Mosque.

During the inspection, it was emphasized that the interior decorative elements of the mosque, which suffered from shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, will be preserved during the revival of the Muslim house of worship. Landscaping work is also underway in the square adjacent to the mosque. The square will be named after Hero of the Soviet Union Musa Jalil, and a bust of the distinguished Tatar poet and patriot will be installed there.

Mufti Ilduz Iskhakov, Special Representative of the Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation (RBM) for Donbass, guided the distinguished guests through the mosque, informing them about the activities of the city's Muslim community and the celebration of the Kurban Bayram holiday prayer.

Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin showed interest in the attendance of the Mariupol Cathedral Mosque, the number of imams and staff of the Muslim house of worship, and expressed satisfaction upon learning that the prayer hall is never empty and that the imams are actively engaged in educational activities. Anton Koltsov, the Mayor of Mariupol, noted that constructive dialogue has been established with the Muslim community and that the mosque is an important center for spiritual and moral education.
