During an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as part of a Russian delegation, Mufti Rushan Abbyasov, Deputy Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation (RBM) for International Affairs and Hajj, participated in a meeting between Ilyas Umakhanov, Commissioner for Hajj Affairs of the Russian Government's Commission on Religious Associations, and Saudi Arabia's Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah.
The Russian delegation included Senator Belan Khamchiev, Head of the Russian Hajj Mission Khizbula Asuev, Mufti of the Chechen Republic and Chairman of the Coordination Center of Muslims of the North Caucasus Salah Mezhiev, and Deputy Mufti of the Republic of Dagestan Magomed Manguev. The meeting was also attended by Russian Consul General in Jeddah Yusup Abakarov.
The main topic of discussion was the organization of Hajj for Russian pilgrims in 2026. A bilateral agreement on the pilgrimage arrangements for Russian Muslims in the upcoming Hajj season was signed between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Russian Federation. The quota for Russian pilgrims remains at the level of previous years—25,000 people.
