A Milestone in the Spiritual Life of the Ummah: The 23rd Moscow International Quran Recitation Competition Commences in the Russian Capital With the blessing of the Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, Grand Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, one of the most significant spiritual events of the year—the 23rd Moscow International Quran Recitation Competition—has commenced at the Moscow Cathedral Mosque.

Organized by the RBM in partnership with the Muhammad bin Zayed University for Humanities (UAE), the event has gathered masterful reciters from 30 countries, who will compete in the "Tilawa" category—the beautiful recitation of the Holy Quran from sight.

In his welcoming address, Mufti Rushan Abbyasov conveyed warm greetings to participants and guests on behalf of Russia's Muslim spiritual leader, Grand Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin. He noted that for over two decades, Moscow has hospitably opened its doors to the finest Quran reciters from around the world, transforming the city into a capital of spiritual unity and brotherhood during these days.

He emphasized that the Moscow International Quran Recitation Competition has evolved beyond a mere contest of beauty and precision in reciting the Holy Scripture, becoming a vital platform for strengthening bonds of friendship among Muslims from different countries and affirming the ideals of peace, harmony, and mutual understanding.

Mufti Rushan Abbyasov expressed sincere gratitude to RBM Chairman Grand Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, under whose spiritual guidance the competition continues to develop and enhance its international prestige year after year. He also thanked the Muhammad bin Zayed University for Humanities, represented by its Rector Khalifa Mubarak Al-Zahiri, for supporting and participating in this significant project.

"This competition is more than just an event—it unites hearts around the Book of Allah, inspires good deeds, strengthens faith, and introduces people to the sublime art of the Quranic word," noted the RBM Deputy Chairman.

Concluding his speech, Mufti Rushan Abbyasov wished all participants successful performances, reminding them that the true winner is one who lives by the Quran and embodies its light in their actions and conduct.

Welcoming remarks were also delivered by the Head of the Competition Judging Committee, Sheikh Firas Al-Matar, and the Secretary-General of the World Association of Quranic Awards and Competitions, Sadeq Mohammed Abdullah Ali.

The competition's closing ceremony will be held at the Cosmos Hotel concert hall on Saturday at 5:00 PM. During the ceremony, the winners will be announced, and a theatrical spiritual performance titled "The Act of Faith" will be presented.
