On July 30, 2013, at 8 PM, a solemn opening ceremony of Ramadan Tent will take place near the Memorial Mosque on Poklonnaya Hill (Moscow city, Minskaya st., apt. #2B). Ramadan Tent is a traditional charitable and public awareness event that acquaints Muscovites with Muslim culture and traditions of Ramadan. The welcome speech will be delivered by mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin.
Among the honoured guests will be the government officials of Moscow city and representatives of Russia’s traditional religions. Music accomp will be played by People’s artist of Russia and Tatarstan Renat Imragimov. A presentation of a video about Muslim fast is also planned on that day.
Ramadan Tent will work from July 31 to August 7, 2013, and will be free for everyone on all days except July 30, when entry will be available only to the media and by invitations.
It is estimated that over seven thousand people will come to the Tent to try traditional cuisine of Muslim peoples of Russia. This event is organized by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Moscow city under the auspices of Russia Muftis Council, and Moscow City Government.
