First Deputy Chairman of the RBM of the Russian Federation, member of the Council on Military-Patriotic Education of Citizens at the Federation Council Mufti Damir Mukhetdinov and Deputy Chairman for Internal Affairs, member of the Public Council at the Ministry of Defense of Russia Ravil Seyfetdinov took part in a meeting of the Council on Military-Patriotic Education of Citizens at the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on the theme: “Preparing the younger generation for service in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The meeting was held in the Training and Methodological Center for Military-Patriotic Education of Youth Avangard in Patriot Park. Before the meeting of the Council Damir Mukhetdinov got acquainted with the work of the center Avangard, classrooms and everyday life of students. The head of the department for work with educational organizations gave the First Deputy Chairman of the RBM of the Russian Federation a personal tour and told about the curriculum and the number of cadets.
Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council, Chairman of the Council on Military-Patriotic Education of Citizens under the Federation Council, Hero of Russia Alexei Vorobyov addressed the guests and members of the Council with a welcoming speech and thanked for the participation of representatives of religious organizations, public authorities and educational institutions.

Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Defense Andrei Kartapolov outlined the importance of strengthening the role of the Voluntary Society for Assistance to the Army, Aviation and Navy (VSAAAN) in the pre-war training of schoolchildren, as well as the need to improve the concept of military-patriotic education of citizens.

Daria Borisova, Director of the Avangard Center, told about the meeting with students of Tamerlan Baragunov, veteran of the Great Patriotic War, honored power engineer of the RSFSR, and his touching words: “In my childhood I considered only my mother and Motherland the most precious things. Now I am 97 years old, my mom is long gone, but my Motherland remains”.

Irina Plaksina, Director of the Tatarstan Cadet Corps named after Hero of the Soviet Union Gani Safiullin, made an inspiring speech about the importance of cadet brotherhood and the spirit of friendship in cadet corps.

Vladimir Bulavin, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security, addressed the audience with a final report.

The meeting of the Council on Military-Patriotic Education of Citizens under the Federation Council was attended by representatives of 50 subjects of the Russian Federation, 50 members of the Council, as well as more than 800 guests.
