The Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation hosted a meeting between the Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, Chief Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, and the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, Olga Lyubimova.
The meeting was also attended by Mufti Rushan Abbyasov, Deputy Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation, Renat Abyanov, Deputy Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation for Culture, Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, and his deputy, Director of the Publishing House “Chitai” Ilshat Salakhutdinov, Head of the Legal Department Ramis Gimoleev and Head of the Department of Family and Health Guzel Mubinova.
During the conversation Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin spoke about the activities of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation and key international projects aimed at strengthening cooperation with the countries of the Islamic world. Among them are the Moscow International Quran Recitation Contest, the International Exhibition “Traditions of Islam in Russia”, the Altyn Minbar Film Festival, the International Muslim Forum and the Spiritual Silk Road Conference.
The participants of the meeting emphasized the importance of preserving Russia's cultural heritage sites, including Muslim ones: the Moscow Historical Mosque, the Khan Mosque and other architectural monuments.
The parties expressed readiness for further cooperation aimed at preserving and popularizing the cultural heritage of Russia, creating conditions for mutual knowledge and cultural enrichment between the peoples of our multinational country.
At the end of the meeting, the Head of the DUM of the Russian Federation presented the library of the Ministry with a collection of books from the publishing houses “Chitai” and “Medina”, and invited Olga Borisovna to pay a return visit to the Moscow Cathedral Mosque, which this year celebrates the 10th anniversary since the completion of reconstruction.
