Moscow Halal Expo opened its doors on Thursday, June 13, in the 75th exhibition hall of All-Russian Exhibition Center.

In accordance with tradition, the event started with recitation of the Holy Qur’an.

During the opening ceremony, Head of Russia Muftis Council, leader of Russia’s Muslims mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin delivered a speech to the audience. In his address, he called for Muslim businessmen to maintain high moral level and fair trade competition.

“Oftentimes, entrepreneurs who run their businesses forget one fundamental principle, and that is the dominance of faith and morals in all their business affairs and relations. Unfortunately, it is not uncommon to see businesspeople breaking their agreements whereas many ayahs of the Holy Qur’an stress the importance of keeping promises and abiding by the signed agreements. And thus, I firmly call for cooperation between Muslim entrepreneurs and Russia Muftis Council, Spiritual Administrations of Muslims of our country, International Center of Standardization and Certification “Halal”, I call not just for economical competence but also for fair trade competition that does not contradict Islam,” said mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin.

“It is only by acting on the principles of Muslim ethics, honesty and morals that we can, by joining forces, effectively form halal infrastructure in the regions of our country, and develop a stable investment system based on the principles of partnership,” he added.

In the end of his speech, mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin wished success to the exhibition and expressed his hope that transparent and professional work will help to work out new effective methods of development of halal industry and strengthening regional and international relations between Muslims.
