A meeting between the Head of Russia Muftis Council mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin and a delegation of Kuwaiti newspaper “al-Anba” took place in RMC residency in Moscow.

The meeting was attended by Al-Anba founder and editor in chief Yousef Khalid al-Marzouq, editorial director Mohammad Bassam al-Husseineh, journalist Usama al-Said abu al-Said, Guzel Metin, Turko Daudov, RMC Deputy Chairman Rushan hazrat Abbyasov, first deputy chairman Damir hazrat Muhetdinov and head of RMC International Department Renat hazrat Abyanov.

Kuwaiti guests demonstrated the issues of newspaper telling about Muslims of Russia and events organized by Russia Muftis Council. It is worth noting that Al-Anba is one of the most well-known daily newspapers of the Arab World.

Mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin warmly welcomed the guests and thanked them for unbiased representation of modern Russian society.

“Muslims of Russia have traditionally been known for their moderation, in particular that manifested itself in their participation in interfaith dialogue. In the years of democratic process Muslims of our country were able to inspire the revival of Islamic values; they’ve been restoring old mosques and building new ones—we’ve got 8 thousand of them right now;they’ve opened and are still opening Muslim publishing houses that publish high-quality religious literature. We have new Islamic universities opened and new skilled graduates each year,” said leader of Russia’s Muslims.

“Muslims of Russia are an integral part of our country and Islamic world,” he added. Mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin especially noted that RMC residency is often visited by heads of foreign states who sign memorandums of understanding and agreement between religious organizations of Russia and their countries.

In the course of meeting, mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin told of the life of Russia’s Muslims, activities of Muslim organizations of Russia, reconstruction of Jum’ah mosque and events organized by Russia Muftis Council that demonstrate true values of Islam—among them international exhibition Moscow Halal Expo, International Qur’an Reading Contest, Mawlid an-Nabi and others.

In addition to that, mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin said that Russian Muftis Council has long been maintaining friendly relations with the Deputy Minister of Awkaf and Islamic Affairs of Kuwait Dr Adel al-Falyah.

Kuwaiti delegation, in its turn, conveyed the greetings of Dr Adel al-Falyah and all their readers who closely follow the news about Muslims in Russiatheir religious kin from non-Muslim country.

During the meeting, mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin answered the question of journalists pertaining to interfaith cooperation of Russia’s Muslims, North Caucasus and the upcoming fast of the month of Ramadhan.

In the end of the meeting, Kuwaiti delegation has reaffirmed its intention to keep covering the life of Russia’s Muslims.
