Strengthening Russian-Arabic Cooperation A memorandum of understanding between Centralized Muslim Religious Organization “Russia Muftis Council” and the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities of United Arab Emirates was ratified today in RMC residency.

The document was signed by the Chairman of Russia Muftis Council mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin and the Executive Chairman of the Department of Islamic Affairs Dr Omar Muhammad al-Khatib.

While preparing this important agreement, the parties were guided by the understanding of the importance of spreading Islamic culture and the knowledge of the blessed religion of Islam in the territory of Russia and the CIS, both among Muslims and non-Muslims.

The Russian party, represented by Russia Muftis Council, undertakes an obligation to organize translation of approved Arabic texts and related works, including all kinds of editing, passing for press, issuing and distribution.

The Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities of United Arab Emirates covers all expenses related to translation and other related works in accordance with future agreements between the parties.

The parties will strengthen relationships in the area of education which will, in its turn, further promote the right understanding of Islam through the most precise translation of the meanings of the Holy Qur’an into Russian.

Members of Russia Muftis Council are confident that it is education that can make further contribution into traditionally friendly relations between Russia and the Arab world (and particularly with the United Arab Emirates), which can hardly be overestimated nowadays.

The ratification was preceded by a business talk in friendly atmosphere.
