Islamic Scholars Signed Document Reaffirming the Right To Reclaim Lost Palestinian Territories 50 Islamic scholars from 15 Arab and Muslim countries signed joint declaration that reaffirms their uncompromising stance on the right to reclaim lost Palestinian land.

The document was signed during a large-scale social campaign called “Blood of Martyrs – and Ink of Scholars” organized last Thursday in Gaza by Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas.

Among those present at the ceremony was the head of International Union of Muslim Scholars Yusuf al-Qaradawi, IUMS Online reports.

He has stressed the fact that Gaza has long demonstrated her dignity by proving that that she won’t stand humiliation at the hands of enemy.

“Gaza has firmly rejected the claims of ‘Israel’. She refused to cave in to demands, to kneel before it because this nation would not kneel down before anyone but God,” said Qaradawi, adding that Jews and “Israel” don’t have any rights to Palestine, being alien to this land.

“We have more rights to this land in comparison with them. It weren’t they who gave it to us – Umar al-Hattab got it from the Christians. Those Zionists don't have any right to Palestine. They took it by force by allying with the English,” the sheikh noted.

He also said that Palestinian people have made great sacrifices in their fight for native land, and stressed the need to achieve national reconciliation and end the continuing division.

“We must strive to reach truce between Gaza and the West Bank. Who profits from this antagonism between brothers of one nation? They must unite in the name of victory,” said Qaradawi.

The scholar has also stressed that Palestine is the top of agenda for the Arab world and that all revolutions of the Arab Spring were inspired by and carried out in the name of Palestine. “Masjid al-Aqsa is not just the mosque of Palestinians or Arabs – it belongs to the whole Muslim Ummah,” he said.
