A delegation of the Council of Muftis of Russia, led by the head of the Council and chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of European Russia sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, arrived in Tehran to take part in the International Conference of Muslim Scholars and Islamic Awakening.

The delegation consists of first deputy mufti Damir Muhetdinov, deputy mufti Rafik hajji Fattahetdinov, head of international relations department of the Council of Muftis of Russia Ildar Galeyev and head of department Dinar Gaynetdinov.

The International Conference of Muslim Scholars and Islamic Awakening gathered spiritual leaders and ulâma from 120 countries of the world. Mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, being a special guest of the Islamic Republic of Iran, acts as an honorary member of the general committee for the opening ceremony. During the conference, which will last from April 29 to April 30 this year, head of the Council of Muftis of Russia, spiritual leader of Russian Muslims mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin will meet spiritual leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, senior consultant of the leader of Islamic Revolution, head of the Islamic Awakening Foundation Dr Akbar Velayati, cultural advisor Ayatollah Ali Taskhiri, officials of Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other notable statesmen, rector of Al-Mustafa Islamic University Ayatollah Arafi and other leaders and religious figures of the Muslim world.
