A working meeting was held on Monday, January 21, in Bahrain between Madina Kalimullina, the head of the Economics Department of the Russian Council of Muftis, whom also is a member of the Coordination Council of the Russian Association of Experts in Islamic finance, and Mohamed Ben Youssef, the Executive director of the General Council for Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions (CIBAFI). During the course of the meeting, Madina Kalimullina, and Mohamed Ben Youssef spoke about their organizations’ activities, and negotiated further cooperations.

The parties reached a tentative agreement on the coordination of efforts to support the spread of information to the Islamic financial sector, particularly, regarding the involvement of Russian companies, those which operate in the field of Islamic finance, to compile an analytical report within the Global Islamic Finance Directory, published by CIBAFI. Now the Russian representatives of the Islamic financial sector will be able to provide and include their information in an annually published report.
