In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the head of the International Department of the Russian Mufti Council Mr. Renat hazrat Abyanov together with a leading specialist of the department Mr. Ildar Galeev met with Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department of MFA, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Mr. Sergei Vershinin.

During the meeting, which was held on the initiative of the Council of Muftis of Russia, Renat hazrat Abyanov told the diplomat of the Council of Muftis of Russia international activities. In particular, they touched upon Islamic education abroad, which, according to the ambassador, was "a very important and sensitive issue."

The parties also discussed a number of matters of foreign policy activities of the Russian Federation. At the end of the meeting the parties agreed that there was a need for closer cooperation and collaboration on a number of issues.
