Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin unanimously was re-elected as Chairman of the Russian Muftis Council
The Madjlis was attended by representatives of 28 central organizations - religious boards in the structure of the RMC, two associate alliance members and leaders – the rectors of three higher Islamic educational institutions belonging to the RMC.
In the hall there were also guests of the congress and media representatives.
A summary report on the activities of the Russian Muftis Council for the period 2007-2012 was reported by the Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the European part of Russia Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin.
In his speech, the Mufti said that the Russian Muftis Council uniting religious organizations in Russia into a powerful positive force, puts its main objective to preserve and enhance the common heritage of Muslim believers, gives confidence in the present day, confidence and pride in country, faith in the future, educates this faith in young people, instilling creative ideals.
Summing up the work of the Russian Muftis Council Ravil Gaynutdin said that the period between 2007 and 2012 could be characterized as a period of growing up, maturing, strengthening.
"One of the hardest pieces of this period can rightly be considered the last few years, when the Russian Muftis Council by action, namely action, has proved its resilience and vitality. We managed not only to preserve our credibility gained over many years, but with dignity overcame the most difficult situations. Despite the fact that some destructive forces attempted to denigrate and discredit the Russian Muftis Council, we managed to maintain the respect and trust in Russia's Muslim community as well as in the scientific community and international partners: governments, agencies and international organizations," - the Mufti said in his speech.
Based on the voting Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin was unanimously re-elected as the Chairman of RMC. Delegates congratulated the spiritual leader of the re-election to this high and important office, and wished success to further fruitful work for the benefit of the Muslim community.
