The delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to Russia Reza Sajan, as well as head of the Cultural Mission of the Embassy of Iran Abuzar Ebrahimi, with whom arrived Rahdar Sheikh - professor of spiritual research center in the Iranian city of Qom, a prominent Muslim scholar, arrived in Moscow mosque to participate in the Day of Al-Quds.

Welcoming his guests, Mufti said that Russian Muslims expressed solidarity with the suffering people of Palestine from the Soviet Union. "The position of our country and our people remains unchanged: Palestine should be recognized by the international community as an independent state with its capital in Jerusalem," - Ravil Gaynutdin said, recalling not only about the injustice that was taking place in Jerusalem, where Muslims had to pray at the holy places of Islam -Mosque Al Aqsa and others - under the gun points of Israeli soldiers, but also about the bloodshed which for decades claiming and taking away the lives of innocent civilians, women, old people and children in Palestine.

Al-Quds - the Arabic name for Jerusalem, the third after Mecca and Medina, the holy city of Islam. Al-Quds Day is not only important for the Palestinian people, but for the world. Jerusalem - the holy city, the city of "three heavenly religions." For Muslims, it is valuable because it is the the place where Prophet Muhammad (sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) made Meraj and here was the first Qibla.

This year, the Congress of Ministers of the Muslim world has been officially recognized as a common day of solidarity - the World Day of Al-Quds, which is celebrated by Muslims of the world on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan. It was proclaimed by the founder and leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Khomeini in 1979 in solidarity with the Palestinian people. In recent years, al-Quds Day went far beyond the borders of Iran, and unites not only Muslims of all schools of thought, but also people of different faiths and beliefs, that express solidarity in the struggle for the liberation of Palestine.

Muslim in the Friday prayer expressed their general commonality with all Ummah in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
