Muslims of Russia and Burkina Faso sign a cooperation agreement The RBMRF and the RMC have signed a cooperation agreement with the Federation of Islamic Associations of Burkina Faso. The document was signed by the first deputy chairman of the RMC, deputy chairman of the RBMRF Rushan Abbyasov and vice-president of the Federation of Islamic Associations of Burkina Faso Mr. Abdulkarim Sana.

Rushan Abbyasov noted that Russia's relations with African countries have been steadily developing, as one can see based on the results of the Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum held in July this year. He noted that the meeting between the Russian President Vladimir Putin and the President of Burkina Faso Ibrahim Traoré held on the sidelines of the forum allowed to enhance cooperation between the two countries.

The first deputy chairman of the RMC stressed that this cooperation agreements was in line with the course of action outlined by the President of Russia, and also proved the effectiveness of people's diplomacy implemented by Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin.

Mr Sana thanked the Mufti for the invitation to participate in the 16th International Theological Scientific and Educational Conference "Galimjan Baroudi Readings" and the 2nd International Symposium on fatwas in Russia. He mentioned that the signed agreement represented a new milestone in the development of constructive relations between the Muslims of Russia and Burkina Faso.

As part of the agreement, the parties intend to invite each other to participate in international, scientific, theological, educational and cultural projects and jointly implement such initiatives, develop student exchange programs, and prevent the spread of extremist ideas among the youth.
