Damir Mukhetdinov, first deputy chairman of the RBMRF, visited the Apostolic Nunciature to the Russian Federation, where he met with the Apostolic Nuncio Giovanni D'Aniello.

At the beginning of the meeting Mukhetdinov conveyed the greetings of Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin to the head of the diplomatic mission of the Holy See, Mons. D'Aniello, as well as to Pope Francis.

Damir Mukhetdinov expressed gratitude to the head of the Roman Catholic Church for his readiness for mediation and peacemaking.

He mentioned the call for peace made by the head of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin on February, 24, and said that the religious leader of Russian Muslims fervently prayed for peace.

The meeting was also attended by Peter Tarnavsky, Adviser to the Apostolic Nunciature, Rinat Ibragimov, head of the International Department of the Moscow Islamic Institute, and Priest Igor Chabanov, Secretary of the Apostolic Nunciature.
