The Vice Chairman, Chief of Staff of the Russian Muftis Council Rushan hazrat Abbyasov and Director of the Department of International Affairs of RMC Renat hazrat Abyanov, First Deputy Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of European part of Russia Damir Hazrat Mukhetdinov, Director of domestic policy of DUMER Ildar Nurimanov, as well as representatives of universities, participated in the workshop of the Advisory Council for Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the Russian Muslim organizations. The main subject of the meeting - the necessary changes in the "Council on Islamic Education." The event was held by the Ambassador at large of the Ministry of foreign Affairs Konstantin V. Shuvalov.

The meeting was opened by the representations of Rafik M. Mukhametshin, the rector of the Russian Islamic University (Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan), as the Chairman of the Council on Islamic Education.

Rafik Mukhametshin, in turn, summed up the activities of the Council for the previous two years, and assessed them as satisfactory. Also Rafik Mukhametshin initiated to organize the Executive Committee, which will include representatives of all institutions of higher Islamic education. The purpose of this Committee is to structure and systematize the work of the Council as a whole.

The Head of Department for Cooperation with Religious Organizations of the Office of the President for Domestic Policy Ilya Barinov introduced the new information on the organization of work on Islamic education. Ilya Barinov noted that all members of religious associations and institutions of higher Islamic educational institutions should work together and create a unified system, the requirements for obtaining an Islamic education abroad by Russian students. In turn, Konstantin Shuvalov drew attention to the fact that these requirements and all information should be coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to prevent possible problems.

Vice-Chairman RMC Rushan hazrat Abbyasov noted that the Russian Muftis Council had experience in such activities. An example is the conclusion of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Russian Muftis Council and foreign universities, in particular, Egypt, Qatar, Indonesia, Malaysia, etc.
