Muftis of Russia and Lebanon discussed cooperation Ildar Alyautdinov, deputy chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, Mufti of Moscow, met with Abdulatif Daryaan, Mufti of Lebanon.

During the meeting Ildar Alyautdinov informed the Lebanese religious leader about the objectives of his visit to Lebanon, as well as the implemented and ongoing projects. He also stressed the importance of coordination and cooperation in the humanitarian area and charity.

The parties agreed to encourage contacts between the Muslims of Russia and Lebanon, while expanding cooperation in the religious sphere.

It should be noted that the Mufti of Moscow Ildar Alyautdinov is visiting Lebanon with a humanitarian mission. The visit is supported by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A school for Syrian refugees funded by Russian Muslims was opened during this visit. The delegation of Russian Muslims visited five camps for Syrian refugees and provided assistance to 250 families. Around 1500 people received warm clothes, blankets and food.

The delegation met with orphans in the care of the Zakat Foundation and provided them with essential supplies. A new school was opened in one of these camps, which is the second school opened by Russian Muslims. A playground is also expected to be built next to the school.
