Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin meets Iranian Ambassador Kazem Jalali Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin received Kazem Jalali, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Iran to the Russian Federation, at the Moscow Cathedral Mosque.
 
The meeting was attended by Ayatollah Akbari Jedi (head of the Moscow Islamic Center), Kahraman Soleimani (head of the Cultural Center of the Iranian Embassy in Moscow) and the employees of the Iranian Embassy in Moscow. The Russian Muftis Council and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation were represented by Rushan Abbyasov, Ildar Nurimanov, and Ildar Galeev.
 
At the beginning of the meeting, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin noted that Russia and Iran maintained a productive relationship based on the similarity of the two countries' stances towards regional and global issues.

“The Russian Muslims highly value regular top-level meetings between our countries' government officials. We observe a positive trend in the development of cooperation in the area of the power industry, transportation, commerce, investment, and other areas. We greatly appreciate the joint efforts of our governments aimed at fighting against terrorism, as well as dealing with regional and international challenges. I take this opportunity to convey my sincere greetings on behalf of Russian Muslims to the Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and Iranian President Hassan Rohani, ”said the head of the RMC.
 
During the conversation, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin congratulated the Ambassador of Iran on the occasion of the presentation of credentials to President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
 
“I wish you well-being and success in this post. Your biography, work experience, and reputation will contribute to the development of Russian-Iranian relations. At the same time, it is important to note that our states need to strengthen cooperation not only in the political and economic field, but also in the cultural and religious field, ”said Mufti.
 
The religious leader of Russian Muslims also noted that the Russian Muftis Council developed close relations with the Iranian religious organizations, including the Administration of the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei, The World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, the Organization for Cultural and Islamic Relations of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Al Mustafa International University, the State Waqf institute of Iran, and other official institutions.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to the Russian Federation, Mr. Kazem Jalali, said that he would do his best to maintain a high level of cooperation between Russia and Iran.

“The Iranian leaders pay great attention to developing relations with our northern neighbor, that is the Russian Federation,” said Mr. Jalali.

The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran also noted that Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin was respected among the religious communities of Iran, and expressed confidence that the cooperation of Russian and Iranian Muslims would continue to develop on the basis of moderation and brotherhood.

During the conversation, the parties emphasized that Islam had nothing to do with aggression, violence, and terror. They agreed that high morals and spirituality were the keys to constructive cooperation in the name of progress and prosperity.

The parties exchanged views on pressing global issues such as the situation in the Middle East and agreed that it was unacceptable to impose behind-the-scene decisions that do not take into account the opinions of all parties to the conflict.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed on cooperation in the field of education, culture, halal industry, and exchanged gifts.
