Discussion on the next IMF session held in the Italian embassy Damir Mukhetdinov (first deputy chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, executive secretary of the International Muslim Forum) met with Guido De Sanctis (deputy head of the dioplomatic mission, Minister of the Italian Embassy in Russia). The meeting took place at the Italian Embassy in Moscow.

The parties discussed the organization of the meeting of the President of the International Muslim Forum, Mufti Ravil Gainutdin, with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to the Russian Federation, Mr. Pasquale Q. Terracciano.

Another point in question was related to the 16th meeting of the International Muslim Forum in Rome, which is scheduled for December 2020. Numerous representatives of international religious organizations, members of academic and educational organizations and government officials and from Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, Southeast Asia and North America are expected to participate in the event.

The IMF gained an international dimension in 2014.  During the 10th International Muslim Forum "The mission of religion and the responsibility of its followers to the challenges of our time" held in Moscow, the participants agreed that the subsequent forums should be conducted abroad. Thus, the 11th forum on Religion, Identity and Integration in the Context of Value Transformationswas held in London in 2015. In 2017, the 13th International Muslim Forum entitled Quranic Humanism and Global Challenges: Strategies and Solutions was successfully held in Helsinki, in 2018 the 14th International Muslim Forum Islam and Globalization Challenges was held in Paris, and in 2019 the 15th International Muslim Forum devoted to Inter-religious dialogue in the post-secular world: Search for interaction platforms was held in Berlin.

At the forum meeting in Berlin on December 10, 2019, the President of the Islamic Cultural Center of Italy, Abdella Redwan, suggested conducting the 16th IMF in Rome.

It should be recalled that the International Muslim Forum was established in order to support and develop peacekeeping and educational initiatives that could help resolve problems and conflicts in the most unstable places in the Muslim world. Its mission is to  channel  spiritual, social, intellectual, cultural forces of the international Muslim community towards the implementation of the ideas of sustainable development based on traditional religious values.
