Rushan Abbyasov meets Indonesian diplomats On Monday, October 28, Rushan Abbyasov, first deputy chairman of the Russian Muftis Council, met Azis Nurwahyudi, Deputy Head of the Diplomatic Mission of Indonesia. The meeting was attended by  Adigun Vijay (Advisor to the Minister), Enjay Diana (First Secretary), Ildar Galeyev (head of the international department of the RMC) and Arthur Gubaidullin, expert of the international department.

At the beginning of the conversation, Rushan Abbyasov conveyed greetings and best wishes from Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, chairman of the Russian Muftis Council and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation.

Rushan Abbyasov informed the guests about the history and life of Russian Muslims, as well as domestic and international projects of the Russian Muftis Council. He noted that Muslims of Russia and Indonesia were connected with long-lasting ties of friendship and partnership. Both countries conduct joint projects in the educational, religious and cultural fields and participate in various international conferences.

One of the biggest events was the photo exhibition “Islamic traditions in Russia”, which was held in the capital of Indonesia - Jakarta. It sparked great interest among local residents and received wide coverage and positive feedback from the media. It is worth noting that after the Indonesians learned more about the history and culture of the Muslim peoples of Russia, the flow of Indonesian tourists to Russia has significantly increased. In the nearest future, the exhibition will be placed in the country's largest university - Jakarta State University.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to develop and strengthen bilateral ties and to expand cooperation through joint projects.
