Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin meets Ambassador of Jordan The Chairman of the Russian Muftis Council and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Jordan, Mr. Amjad Adayle, at the Moscow Cathedral Mosque.

The meeting was also attended by the Rushan Abbyasov (First Deputy Chairman of the RMC), Damir Gizatullin (Deputy Chairman of the RBMRF), Ravil Seyfetdinov (Deputy Chairman of the RBMRF), and Ildar Galeyev (Head of the International Department of RMC).

At the beginning of the conversation, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin conveyed greetings and best wishes to His Majesty King Abdullah II and the entire Jordanian people. He noted that Russian Muslims were pleased with the relations established between the leaders of our countries that contribute to the strengthening of ties between our countries.

"The visit of the respected King Abdullah II was a historic event for all of us. Today we are witnessing that our relations are developing, which involves visits and joint projects in the educational sphere," said the leader of Russian Muslims.

Both parties expressed the high opinion of the efforts of the Kingdom of Jordan and King Abdullah II aimed at protection of holy places, especially the Al-Aqsa mosque.

"For several years, Al-Quds Day, which is a day of solidarity with the Palestinian people, is celebrated in the Moscow Cathedral Mosque. We know that King Abdullah II of Jordan is a descendant of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). His Majesty protects the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the rights of believers and civilians on Palestinian lands. We are ready to cooperate with the Jordanian embassy and the Jordanian government in this regard", added the mufti.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed cooperation in the religious, cultural and educational, spheres.

Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin invited the guest to participate in a number of various events, including the 115th anniversary of the Moscow Cathedral Mosque, the 25th anniversary of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, the 20th anniversary of the Moscow Islamic Institute.

At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged souvenirs and agreed on further mutually beneficial cooperation.
