Press conference with TASS prior to international forum
On 5 September, religious, social and political figures of the Arab countries and Russia will conduct the 6th international forum called "Public Dialogue: Russia and the Arab World" in Moscow. This was mentioned by Rushan Abbyasov, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Muftis Council and the Religious Board of Muslims of Russia, during a press conference with the TASS new agency. The Forum is organized by the Russian Muftis Council, the International Forum of Arab Culture (Beirut) and a number of Arab embassies in Moscow.

"We will hold an international forum to discuss issues related to the interfaith dialogue. Today Russia plays an important role in the development of relations between the Arab Islamic world and other communities, and, being representatives of public diplomacy, we try our best to strengthen these ties, ", - said Rushan Abbyasov.

He said that this forum had been held in Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, and last year it took place in Russia for the first time and was devoted to the protection of Christianity in the Middle East. This topic, along with other issues, will also be discussed at the upcoming forum.

"Terrorists have destroyed sacred places of different religions – both ancient mosques and Christian churches. Russia is taking part in their reconstruction. Without any doubt, we must oppose it all together", - said Rushan Abbyasov.

Secular and religious figures from Lebanon, Tunisia, Libya, Bahrain, Egypt and other countries will participate in the forum. They include muftis, representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church, public figures, as well as leading experts of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences and other academic and educational organizations.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Bahrain Ahmed As-Saati also took part in the press conference. He expressed a high opinion about the activities of the Russian Muftis Council and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation led by Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, emphasizing their role in establishing contacts and relations between Russia and the Muslim world.

Certain aspects of Russian-Bahraini relations, including those related to the religious sphere, were also raised at the press conference.
