The head of the International Department of the Russia Muftis Council and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, Ildar Galeev, attended the gala evening of Russian-Turkish friendship marking the 26th anniversary of the Agreement on the Fundamentals of Relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Turkey.

The event was organized by the Federal Agency for the Affairs of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation, the Russian Association for International Cooperation, and the Embassy of Turkey in the Russian Federation.

During the event Ildar Galeev conveyed greetings to the leader of Rossotrudnichestvo, Eleonora Mitrofanova, on behalf of the religious leader of Russian Muslims Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin and thanked for inviting the representatives of the Russian Muslim clergy. Also on the sidelines of the event he had a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to Russia, Mr. Huseyin Dirioz, who highly appreciated the active participation of the Russian Muftis Council and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation in the Russian-Turkish public forum.

It should be reminded that the first deputy chairman of the Russian Muftis Council and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation Rushan Abbyasov is the Chairman of the Committee on Interreligious Relations of the Russian-Turkish public forum. The main objectives of this forum include the development of public relations and mutual understanding between the two countries in the area of culture, art, education, science, history, media, business environment, tourism, interreligious dialogue, legal issues and other areas.
