RMC representatives participated in international conference in Iraq Abdul-Aziz Dyatko, the mufti of Karelia, and Abdurrauf Faizov, the imam-khatyb of the Noginsk Cathedral Mosque of the Moscow Region, participated in the conference "Moderation and fair treatment ", which was held in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad. The conference was held under the slogan "Followers of moderate Islam in the face of radicalism". During the event, the mufti of Karelia Abdul-Aziz Dyatko conveyed greetings on behalf of Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, the chairman of the Russian Muftis Council and the Religious Board of Muslims of Russia.

As it is the case at all Islamic events, the conference began with a recitation of some verses of the Holy Quran. After that, the chairman of the Sunni Waqf in Iraq, Dr. Abdullatif Al-Gumaimi, greeted all participants of the conference.

"Welcome to Baghdad, the cradle of Islamic culture, where great scholars and righteous people lived in such cities as Basra and Kufa, and where scholars such as Imam Azam Abu Hanifa and Abdul Qadir Gilani were buried," he said. .

The sheikh thanked the Almighty for helping those who did not allow the spread of evil of ISIS and managed to defeat them.

"This victory came at a high cost – many soldiers lost their lives. If it were not for the help of the Almighty and the courage of the soldiers who sacrificed their lives, we would not be here now, "he noted.

The Prime Minister of Iraq, Dr. Haider Al-Abadi, delivered a speech after Abdullatif Al-Gumaimi. He said that terrorism and radicalism could not exist for long, they would reveal their essence sooner or later, and people would understand that this is evil, and would stand up against it.

"In the fight against radicalism, we must always be united, since radicalism can demonstrate its destructive influence in any country, it will not be restrained by any state boundaries. Its aim is not only Iraq and Syria, but the whole world, so we need to act together to fight it, " agreed the conference participants.
