The first deputy chairman of the Russia Muftis Council and Religious Board of Muslims of Russia, Rushan Abbyasov, held a meeting with Sheikh Rahmatullah bin Inayatullah Turkistani, head of the external relations department of the International League of the Islamic World, and Sheikh Abdullah ibn Ali Basfar, PhD in Islamic sciences, the Secretary General of the World Organization for the Holy Quran and Sunnah. The meeting took place at the Moscow Cathedral Mosque.

At the beginning of the conversation, Rushan Abbyasov conveyed the greetings on behalf of the religious leader of Russian Muslims Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin.

"Our cooperation with the World Organization for the Holy Quran and Sunnah and personally with Sheikh Abdullah ibn Ali Basfar has been very productive. Muslims of Russia sincerely appreciate your contribution to the development of the centers for studying the Koran," he said.

Rushan Abbyasov also spoke about the activities and projects of the Russia Muftis Council and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, in particular about the Moscow International Qur'an Reciting Competition.

"We are looking forward to  cooperation. We are planning to hold not only an international contest, but also Qur'an reciting competitions within Russia, selecting the best reciters in the regions for participation in international competitions, both in Russia and abroad," – he said.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Ali Basfar noted that "the International Qur'an Reciting Competition held in Russia brings together the representatives of the Islamic World and the Commonwealth of Independent States, which once again proves our strong historical ties and spiritual unity"

He also said that in recent years the organization has been working productively with the Russian ummah, and a number of good projects has been implemented.

Sheikh Rahmatullah bin Inayatullah Turkistani expressed admiration for the activities of Russian Muslims related to studying the Holy Quran, and spreading true Islamic values through understanding the Holy Scripture of Muslims.

At the end of the meeting the parties exchanged gifts and agreed on further fruitful cooperation. In addition, Rushan Abbyasov conducted a guided tour of the new complex of the Moscow Cathedral Mosque.
