Winner of the 18th Moscow Qur'an Reciting Competition announced On 8 October the biggest concert hall of Moscow, Crocus City Hall, hosted the Qur’an Festival, where the winner of the 18th Moscow International Qur’an Reciting competition was announced.

The event took place under the patronage of the President of the Moscow International Qur'an Reciting Competition, chairman of the Russia Muftis Council, mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin and His Majesty the King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa. The Safmar charity fund was one of the event's regular sponsors.
  
This year participants from more than 30 countries took part in the contest and competed in the Tilawah (beautiful recitation of the Qur’an) nomination.

The jury included Abdullah Aziz Kahtan Khaled al-Amari from Bahrain, Alsayed Basim Hamdi from Saudi Arabia, Mohammad Tourabi from Morocco, Cuhadar Yasar from Turkey and Ibrahim Sabirov from Russia.

According to the jury’s decision, 5 participants were selected for the final stage of the competition: Al-Tuwair Asam Abdallah Omar (Libya), Ahmad Safi al-Halabi (Syria), Laal Awak Amir (Iran), Khalid Ahmet Rabii Ahmed Yusuf (Egypt), Mohammed Samir Mohammed Majahid (Bahrain).

The President of the Moscow International Qur'an Reciting Competition, chairman of the Russia Muftis Council, mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, delivered a speech for the visitors and participants of the contest. The special representative of the King of Bahrain also addressed the guests with welcoming words.

All participants of the 18th Moscow International Qur’an reciting competition demonstrated their skills in the best possible way and conveyed the words of the Creator to the audience. Thousands of people from different countries could watch the event online on the web-site of the Russia Muftis Council and the MuslimTV channel.

Laal Awal Amir from Iran became the winner of the 18th Moscow International Qur’an reciting competition. The second prize was given to Mohammed Samir Mohammed Majahid from Bahrain, and Ahmad Safi al-Halabi from Syria received the third prize.

The winners received diplomas decorated with special crystals. All participants of the 18th Moscow International Qur’an reciting competition received gifts and participation certificates.
