Mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin meets head of Presidency of Religious Affairs of Turkey Today in the residency of the Russia Muftis Council and the Spiritual Board of Muslims of Russia, in the Moscow Cathedral mosque mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin met Mehmet Gormez, President of the Presidency of Religious Affairs of Turkey.
The meeting took place during the visit of the delegation of the Presidency of Religious Affairs, which came to Russia in order to participate in the opening ceremony of the Memorial mosque in Kostroma. The meeting was attended by Huseyin Dirioz, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Tueky in Russia, Murat Dikmen, first secretary of the Turkish Embassy, Dursun Aygun, head of the haj and umrah department of the Presidency, Hafiz Osman Sahin, deputy chairman for Revision and Publication of the Holy Scripture, as well as other representatives from Turkey and deputies of Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin.

The religious leader of Russian Muslims thanked the guests for their participation in the event, which was important not only for Muslims of the Kostroma region, but for all Russian Muslims, as this mosque was one of the old mosques restored at the expense of Russian Muslims and our fellow believers from Turkey.

“You visit and upcoming participation in the Friday sermon is a special event for Russian Muslims”, — said Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, when greeting the guests.

Professor Mehmet Gormez said that participation of the Muslims of both countries in activities pleasing to God would strengthen even more the historical ties between the Turkish and Russian peoples.

He added that the defence of one’s Motherland is a sacred duty for a Muslim, and that it was good to see that the Russian Muslims respected and remembered their heroes and commemorated their feats. “We need to immortalize the memory of those who fought and and died during the World War II for their motherland, faith and life of future generations”, — said Mehmet Gormez.

Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin thanked Huseyin Dirioz, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey, for assistance in organizing the visit of the Turkish delegation.
