"Press service of Russia Muftis Council informs that the source of dishonourable and cowardly attack on the official site of Russia Muftis Council has been determined, and the corresponding law enforcement authorities have been informed of it.
On a holiday, when Muslims of all world celebrate the festival of Kurban Bayram or Eid al-Adha (established by Abraham-Ibrahim, forefather of Jews, Christians and Muslims), which demonstrates the triumph of humanism and unites followers of all monotheist faiths, malicious and pitiful people hacked and defaced the site of Russia Muftis Council in an attempt to insult believers' feelings.
This fact is regretful not only because it was timed to coincide with Muslim holiday, but also because it shows that certain people in our society have a particular dislike and even hatred towards people of other faiths, ethnicities, races or eye shapes. In today's Eid sermon mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin stressed that some people nowadays fall into the sin of arrogance, declaring exceptionality and superiority of certain peoples and even states.
This particular act exposes the sin of ignominy and disgrace of its performers. The very fact of blasphemy on the day when two billion Muslims remember their forefather Abraham and his commandments in their prayers is aimed at disrupting our tradition of peaceful coexistence of different peoples and nations, spreading enmity between followers of different creeds, and constitutes an aggressive attempt of splitting our society, which poses threat to integrity of our country.
Speaking on behalf of their colleagues, readers and members of congregations who express their resentment over the attack, press service of Russia Muftis Council would like to address the attackers: our website does not need your self-portraits nor self-revelations of your dirty souls: you are sick, and corrosion of hatred has already eaten your souls.
