During his visit to Brussels, capital of Belgium, Chairman of Russia Muftis Council mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin met with the spiritual leaders of European and Baltic states.
In particular, he met the mufti of Belarus Abubakr Shibanovich, Lithuanian mufti Romas Jakubauskas, mufti of Estonia Ildar Muhamedshin.
During these meetings, mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin told of the life of millions-strong Russian Ummah, programs and projects of Russia Muftis Council involving representatives of other countries. Among other things, he mentioned Moscow Halal Expo, international exhibition that brings together delegates from over 30 countries, and Moscow International Qur'an Reciting Competition that welcomes contestants from more than 40 countries.
Spiritual leader of Russian Muslims invited his conversation partners to this year's Moscow Halal Expo 2014 which is will take place in Moscow between June 5 and 8. Muftis thanked Ravil Gaynutdin for the invitation, saying that they'll be happy to get acquainted with the halal industry of Russia.
Muftis also expressed their interest in situation in Crimea. Mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin gave a detailed account of his visit to Crimea in March of this year and told of the problems of Crimean Tatars, and mentioned signing of the rehabilitation act by Vladimir Putin as one of the major positive developments of recent time.
In the end of the meetings, parties agreed to continue developing their cooperation.
