America's first Islamic university, Zaytuna College, was granted official accreditation, according to Islam News agency who cite Anadolu Ajansı.
Zaytuna College that opened in Berkeley, California in 2010, was granted accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), one of the six official academic bodies responsible for the accreditation of public and private universities, colleges, secondary and elementary schools in the United States.
The College became a formally recognized Islamic educational institution in the West Coast.
It is attended by students of all races from different countries who study Islamic law, theology and Arabic language.
