A meeting between Chairman of Russia Muftis Council and the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin with the ambassador of Palestine Mr Faed Mustafa took place in RMC residency.

During the meeting, the parties signed a memorandum of understanding between Russia Muftis Council and the Committee of Humanitarian Aid of the President of Palestine. In accordance with the instructions of the President of Palestine Mahmud Abbas, the Palestinian party was represented at the signing by Dr. Mustafa.

The creation of such legal framework will let the Russian party officially and directly work with Palestinian charity organizations, organize joint charity events and other projects.

During the meeting, mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin told of the reconstruction progress of the Jum'ah mosque in Moscow. He invited the Palestinian ambassador to attend the mosque opening ceremony, reassuring him that the invitations will be sent to the Palestinian leadership as well.

Mr Saed Mustafa told that "the opening of such a mosque in Moscow is a big event for the whole Muslim Ummah and that the President of Palestine will certainly attend it. We are sure that the new mosque will become the symbol of Moscow and Russian Muslims." Both parties also expressed their negative attitude towards intentional mocking people's religious feelings.

Mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin told the ambassador of the rally in support of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) that took place in the capital of Chechnya earlier this week. "The rally in Grozny is a unique event for Russia that witnessed people of different faiths coming out in support of traditional values," said the ambassador.
