A meeting with the Arab-Muslim world A meeting between the first deputy chairman of Russia Muftis Council, Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation Rushan hazrat Abbyasov with diplomats representing more than ten foreign countries took place in the conference hall of RMC residency in Moscow.

The meeting was attended by the representatives of Yemen, Iraq, Qatar, Palestine, Kuwait, Algeria, Jordan, Sudan and head of RMC International department Ildar hazrat Galeev.

During the meeting, Rushan hazrat conveyed the greeting words of the Chairman of Russia Muftis Council and the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin to the members of diplomatic services, informed them of the events and projects organized by these organizations as well as their plans for this year.

He said that Russian Muslims as native-born citizens of their country strongly denounce all kinds of violence and terror.

"Problems arising in the Western world are based on the contradictions between the stated policy of multiculturalism and growing Islamophobia and are alien to Russian society, and all attempts to bring these problems and conflicts to our country should be prevented for the good of our multicultural and multifaith society," said Rushan hazrat Abbyasov.

"Such a significant event as the rally in support of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in Chechnya and a festive event devoted to Mawlid—Prophet's birtday—at Crocus City Hall, one of our country's largest exhibition halls, became a show of a civilized answer and a display of solidarity of Russian Muslims, united by constructive Islamic values that denounce all kinds of terror and radicalism," he added.

The parties also agreed that the incorrect wording of many Islamic terms in mass media has the opposite effect: it creates tensions within the society and motivates the adepts of radical teachings to justify their actions with religion. According to the third secretary of Iraqi embassy Abdul-Jabbar al-Zubaidi, "ISIL must not be called 'Islamic State'—it is a terrorist state, and Islam has nothing to do with it."

"It is only by joint efforts, and with the help of the influence of Russia Muftis Council and the role it plays within Russian society that we may convey to the Russia's Muslims the crimes and atrocities that this organization commits in the territories of several Arab states," said the diplomat.

In the end of the meeting, both parties agreed on the necessity of regular contacts of this kind and realization of common projects.
