Words of condolences Chairman of Russia Muftis Council mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin offered his condolences to the leadership and the people of the Chechen Republic in relation to the terrorist act that took place on October 5 in Grozny.

Dear Ramzan Akhmatovich! Dear residents of Chechnya!

On behalf of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims and Russia Muftis Council and me personally, I would like to express my condolences and sincere sympathy for the families of those killed in the terrorist act in Grozny on October 5. We are praying for their souls and the health of our countrymen who were wounded during the attack.

May the righteous punishment of Allah befall on those who planned, organised and carried out this crime! Having scheduled their crime on the day of a city holiday, the villains must have hoped for heavy casualties. They weren't stopped neither by God's prohibition of the murder of innocents nor by the holiness of the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha and the forbidden month of Dhul-Hijjah. Whatever the motives of the criminals were, they have proven that there is nothing sacred for them.

By the grace of Allah and thanks to the policemen who showed highest degree of professionalism and noticed the criminal in time, the casualty count is not as high as it could be. To the deepest regret, the policemen had to sacrifice their lives to save their fellow citizens. May the Creator welcome our fearless brothers to the gardens of paradise, and may He give patience and fortitude to their families and close ones. Verily, to Allah we belong and to Him is our return.

Mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin

Chairman of Russia Muftis Council
