Hijab issue solved First RMC deputy chairman Rushan hazrat Abbyasov, lawyer Murad Musaev and head of RMC economics department Madina Kalimullina met today with Andrei Kamkin, rector of Russian National Research Medical University that announced new strict dress code for students banning all visible demonstration of religious or ethnic identity. According to the order, students who will not follow the new dress code starting November 1 will face disciplinary measures.

During the meeting, parties shared their opinions on the dress code with due consideration of religious obligations of female Muslim students.

Mr Kamkin explained the necessity of the order with the need to enact common uniform for all students. At the same time, he acknowledged the importance of students' religious obligations in clothing but voiced his opinion that the variation in clothing should remain minimal.

The parties agreed that the optimal choice of clothing for female Muslim students would be long medical overall (with oversleeves if needed), medical cap covering hair and dressing elements of the same colour, like headscarf or high collar, for covering neck.

The meeting was carried out in the format of meaningful dialogue.
