On behalf of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, the Russian Muftis Council and myself, I express my sincere condolences over the plane crash in Tehran that took the lives of 176 people. We are deeply saddened by this accident that killed so many people and we pray that the Almighty grants mercy to their souls. Among the victims there were citizens of Iran, Ukraine, Canada and other countries, including many of our fellow believers.

Verily, we all belong to Allah and to Him is our return. May Allah ease the pain of loss for the families and friends who lost their loved ones in the accident, and gives them strength and patience to cope with this tragedy.
