The Deputy Minister of Defense of Malaysia, Dato Mohd Johari bin Baharum, met the first deputy chairman of the Russia Muftis Council, Damir hazrat Gizatullin at the Russia Muftis Council. The meeting was also attended by diplomats from the Malaysian embassy and representatives of the Malaysian religious organization Restu.

At the beginning of the meeting Damir hazrat Gizatullin conveyed the greetings on behalf of the chairman of the RMC and the SBMRF, mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, and thanked the guests for coming. It should be noted that Mr Baharum visited the Russia Muftis Council in 2016, where he was received by Rushan hazrat Abbyasov.

During the visit the deputy chairman spoke about the spheres of cooperation between Russian and Malaysian Muslims. The parties also exchanged opinions regarding the role of the Muslim community in the development of society.

As the Holy month of Ramadhan is approaching, Danmir hazrat Gizatullin informed the guests about the charity project called “Ramadhan tent” and invited the Malaysian side to participate in the project and arrange a special event devoted to this country’s culture and religion.

The representatives of Restu also spoke about their activities, in particular, those related to the Qur’an translation and educational projects.

The parties expressed mutual interest in establishing and developing bilateral cooperation.
