Russia — Uzbekistan:long-term friendship and strategic partnership Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin was invited by the Russian President Vladimir Putin to participate in a reception in Kremlin held due to the visit of the President of Uzbekistan — the countries that has been an important strategic partner of Russia throughout the history.

The president of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, came to Russia on a 2-day official visit.

This morning the president's plane landed in the Vnukovo-2 airport. It was received by both countries’ ambassadors, deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Grigoriy Karasin, the director of the state protocol department Yuriy Filatov and the minister of economic development Maxim Oreshkin.

On 3 April the Kremlin press service announced that Shavkat Mirziyoyev would come to Russia on a state visit for the first time.

It was also mentioned that on 5 April during the top-level negotiations the parties would “discuss the key aspects of bilateral relations and schedule the steps for further development of bilateral cooperation in political, commercial, economic, cultural and scientific areas”.

The visit is supposed to result in signing a set of intergovernmental, interdepartamental and commercial documents.
